Dr. Shannon Ginnan, MD

  Shannon Ginnan MD,  certified hyperbaric medicine physician and Board certified fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. Dr. Ginnan is an expert on integrating hyperbaric treatment in customized treatment programs to help heal the body from the inside-out.  He loves helping patients who feel they've reached the "end-of-their-road" get better! 

Dr. Ginnan is well versed in functional medicine, which looks at the functional causality of a certain health condition, such as diabetes, and strives to treat the underlying cause of the dysfunction instead of just the symptoms themselves. Functional medicine allows Dr. Ginnan to improve the lives of his patients by finding and removing dysfunction and returning the body to a balanced state; decreased pain, increased balance and increased energy, to name just a few. These changes are orchestrated by thorough patient education and positive one-on-one interactions with. Dr. Ginnan is also the Medical Director for Virginia Integrative Health and Hyperbaric.

Dr. Peter Demitry, MD



 Dr. Demitry completed medical residency training and research fellowship at Harvard in 1998 and was selected as the Chief Resident in his class. Dr. Demitry is a Diplomat (Board Certified) of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and a Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association.

Pete is a lifetime member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots with operational/flight test experience in the F-4, A-10, F-16 and F-15 fighter aircraft. Dr. Demitry has piloted over 37 different types of jet aircraft logging over 2,300 fighter and flight test hours and has been transitioning medical technologies since his AF retirement. In addition to creating the medical vision for Meridian MPS, Dr. Demitry is also the Chief Technology Editor for the leading business publication dedicated solely to physicians, ‘Today’s Practice’, and is the Executive director of the National Foundation for Integrative Medicine.


Calista Petrie, MA


Calista Petrie has enjoyed participating in patient care at Virginia Integrative  Health & Hyperbaric as the Office Manager and Medical Assistant and has been with the family owned practice since opening in 2010. She developed a passion for healthcare from a young age descending from 3 generations of women doctors and practitioners and was accepted in the MENSA high IQ society at age four.  Calista attended Fairfax High School, followed by Graham Webb Academy for cosmetology, before proceeding to earn her Registered Medical Assistant from American Medical Technologists. She completed a certification in Functional Nutrition from Institute for Functional Medicine and has completed numerous accredited CME certificate courses in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, endocrine and hormonal disorders, environmental immunology, HIPPA and OSHA safety and security, human resources, and disease risk factors.Give customers a reason to do business with you.

Jay West, HT


 Jay West is the Hyperbaric Technician Manager and Marketing Specialist for VIHH. He  completed training as an EMT with multiple emergent care certifications through AEC and obtained his Hyperbaric Technician certification through IHMF. 

He enjoys working with patients to help improve their conditions and quality of life, as well as outreaching in the community to help as many patients and physicians as possible through hyperbaric and integrative medicine. Jay works with Dr. Shannon Ginnan, MD to deliver the most effective and pleasant hyperbaric experience possible at the clinic. 

Dr. Aidan O’Brien, DC



Dr. Aidan O’Brien is a Board-certified Chiropractic Physician in Virginia and Maryland and a specialist in the treatment of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Dr. O’Brien enjoys treating complex conditions and working with patients who have previously failed care. Prior to graduating Salutatorian and Magna Cum Laude from the Palmer College of Chiropractic, West Campus, he sharpened his skills as a Chiropractic intern at the Palo-Alto VA Hospital where he was exposed to a myriad of different conditions. Dr. O’Brien understands the importance of utilizing an integrative, multi-disciplinary approach to healthcare through which he co-manages patients with our Medical Physicians and provides them with a multi-faceted treatment plan tailored to their specific needs. Applying Chiropractic and Physiotherapeutic techniques, Dr. O’Brien targets the cause of a patient’s condition, not just the symptoms, and provides each patient with at-home methods of pain control and self-maintenance to put the patient in control.

Dr. Yvoune Petrie, DC


 Yvoune Petrie currently provides services as a Hyperbaric Safety Director and consultant with clinic medical directors.  Although she is retired from active practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic, she works with the physicians to ensure safe and effective hyperbaric care, and design and implement novel studies in the field of hyperbaric medicine. Dr. Petrie also assists health care providers across the US with integrative health care and hyperbaric services “from start to finish and ongoing” to clinics to increase productivity, and outcomes. She also enjoys aiding patients especially with complex and difficult cases.
